Made by the Aurora company, they were given the nickname “Aurora Factory Experimentals”, thus bringing upon the abbreviated version of the name, “AFX”. The collection also features 18 unique sorts of track, with the possibility of 10 lanes for racing.

Tracks can range anywhere from 50 to 250 dollars, depending on your source. Sets are also available between prices of 45 to 300 dollars. Some people are collectors while others race competitively or just for fun.

In 1974, AFX added a feature to the models called “magna-traction”, which consists of magnets under the car which help it to grip the track.
